Sharing is Caring

If you missed out on Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels you really missed out!

Composer Matthew Sharp and The Picture House Orchestra graced us with their presence at the Royal Concert Hall. They delivered Wallace’s Concerto in Ee Lad.

You might have thought the concert hall was for serious, straight faced events only. Well listen when I tell you: you couldn’t be more wrong.

The performance crafted by Carrot Productions opened with a comedic sketch of composer Matthew running late for the show. Once on stage Matthew was not only a composer but a very bubbly and interactive host. A good presence to help children take an interest in the arts.

The show continued with the opening number being none other than an astounding rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. To which, half the brass section were head banging.

It was a very dynamic show with not only the orchestra on stage but clips of Wallace & Gromit “backstage” preparing for their big concerto. After the interval the audience were treated to “The Wrong Trousers” with the live orchestra creating the atmosphere.

This event was a great introduction to music for anyone and a very enjoyable afternoon! From parents to teachers and home educators this was a fantastic opportunity.

Sounds like something you would love to take the kids to but Wallace & Gromit isn’t your cheddar? You can be happy knowing that Carrot Productions will be touring an orchestral version of The Snowman at Christmas time. Sadly it doesn’t look like there are any Scottish dates yet but watch this space!
